Comments on Globe Wimax as of September 2013

Well, Globe WiMax seem to be fairly well.... though I think, it's still at an early stage to judge... it's my second month now.... and no trouble yet.... I have applied for the Globe Wimax's 1 Mbps plan since in our location, DSL or lined-internet is not possible (for now, don't know when it would be possible)... PLDT nor Globe DSL can't reach our place.

One problem I've encountered though is with regarding to my hosting or maintenance of my own website. I develop or program my website so I really need to be connected with the internet. The thing is, Globe's connection seem to be having problem with godaddy's webhosting. At times, I am not able to connect nor access my own website, particularly those of that under godaddy's. Godaddy seem to have a list of banned IP addresses or blocked IP addresses and if those IP addresses seem to have issues and suspected to be doing illegal activities on their website, these IP addresses will be blocked. And if my understanding is right, Globe's IP addresses are usually shared among their customers. So even if you are not doing something illegal or suspicious activity and other accounts maybe doing something wrong you will be banned from accessing the particular sites. Well, it's a very complicated hard to understand.... but that's my own understanding.... in short, if you are a web developer, Globe's WiMax maybe needed to be thought of very carefully.

But, nevertheless, how I handle it still? I have some ways that I do to deal with this problem (that is when I can't access my own website). one thing I do is by simply re-plug off and wait for 10-20 seconds and plug-in the WiMax modem. If that doesn't work.... I also do "rebooting" the WiMax modem.... How to do this? you'll have to google (or search) how to go in or access the WiMax Modem.... it will be a little bloody looking for it as this will depend on what model the WiMax is.... usually Globe doesn't want their customers to do this.. as what I know (not sure though).... because customers might make some wrong configurations etc... So far, I only reboot the Globe Wimax when I encounter problem on accessing my website.... and it works.... but you also have to be patient... there was I time I thought, by rebooting, I can no longer access the net... nevertheless I just simply put it off then on again.... and wait.... alas... it's connected again... =D

Well that's just my early experience on the Globe if this goes on well... I'll probably recommend Globe WiMax over Smart MyBro even if Smartbro gives twice speed than Globe WiMax.... the problem with Smartbro is with their service.... and consistency of the speed of their internet.... With regards to the so called "Fair Use Policy".... I think Globe WiMax doesn't have that limit as compared to Smartbro's FUP.... But as I have said it's still early to judge....  so far? Globe WiMax is OK.... and for Smartbro? it's frustrating when they can not fulfill the promise given... and when you have to call them every after 2 months....

    1. Hello, sorry to read your comment just now... but with your inquiry, I have not been able to find a permanent solution to it since the ISP I had and Hosting Service like godaddy does not really go along well or won't adjust to fix the problem really on their ends. I think the permanent solution would be to change either. Of course I know it is often impractical. I think I tried communicating to both ends but never gave a good solution to it. By the way, my account to godaddy is no longer active so, can't really give much feedback on this matter anymore...
